Hardback edition with dustwrapper; approximately 1cm smaller all round and slimmer than the original book; not dated; green boards with black figuring of hay cart on front board; 192pp; illus Joan Kiddell Monroe; no map eps; dustwrapper illustration not credited, but based on Kiddell Monroe's illustration from page 95.

This book is unusual in that at the base of the spine the cloth has 'The Book Club' blocked and on the dustwrapper in the same place is printed 'Children's Book Club'. The majority of CBC editions have no publisher credit on cloth or wrapper.

No map but has all the Joan Kiddell Monroe illustrations.
The cover design is not credited but is derived from the illustration on the first edition dustwrapper.

Molino 1964: (Spain)
A hardback edition as El Club de Los Lechuzos.
The translator is Maria Delores Raich and the cover is by Pablo Ramirez; the book has the original illustrations by Joan Kiddell Monroe.
