160x210mm; red cloth: title and author on front board and spine in black. Front board also has gilt embossed RNLI medal; 80pp; illustrated throughout with engravings and b/w photographs amd photographs of paintings etc; full colour frontispiece is the painting by Claude Muncaster R.W.S., R.B.A. made specially for the book and used as the cover illustration. The rear of the d/w has a map of Britain with the Life-boat Stations marked.
